Stolen Babies

Okay okay...Time for a "real post". I might eventually post some videos/pictures from the Avalanche Tour that I went to see, but I dunno. It was a good show. I'm glad I saw it. I'm REALLY glad I saw it for free. But I'm not sure I can turn a review into a full post. So, for now let's move on to yet another band that I doubt many, or perhaps, even any of you have heard of...

Stolen Babies is a band that is in the same vein as Diablo Swing Orchestra (Who is working on a new album by the way.) According to Wikipedia, they are, "an American avant-garde metal band with significant influences from dark cabaret". Unfortunately, I have not been able to find their demos or EP. As such, I can't post any tracks from those.

What I CAN post examples of, however, is their one and only full length album,There Be Squabbles Ahead. This is Push Button, one of the tracks off that album.

Next is Lifeless, from the same album.

And finally, I found this track from an upcoming album. I couldn't find any more details on when it will be released. This is Splatter!

Also, it has come to my attention that two of the members, Gil and Rani Sharone have played various instruments with Maynard James Keenan in Puscifer. I would post some examples, but I can't find any specifics.

  2. I discovered Stolen Babies after Gil became the drummer for The Dillinger Escape Plan. Now that he's out of Dillinger, I reeeeally hope he can get a new Stolen Babies record out!

  11. No offense. It's the type of thing I wouldn't mind my girlfriend listening to all day for a week.... or not TOO MUCH. But I wouldn't put it on myself.

As I do not HAVE a girlfriend I will play it all week and pretend my imaginary girlfriend is playing it.

  13. Well, initially I was afraid this is one of those all-show-crappy-music bands, but turned out to be nice. The fact that two out of three items posted here were just music without video helped.
