Alestorm

Alestorm is a folk/power metal band from Scotland that has decided to keep with a pirate theme. As such, they are sometimes referred to as "pirate metal". (Now, we just need to find some ninja metal, and see which is better.)

One of my hobbies is making mead, (Which I might make some posts on at some point.) and while folk metal definitely sets the mood for mead, I can't help but to start the process off by blaring Alestorm's first album, Captain Morgan's Revenge. Specifically, a track called, Wenches & Mead.

Their second album, Black Sails At Midnight, also has a good drinking song (That Famous Ol' Spiced) but, I think I'll post Keelhauled instead. Add some more diversity, and also, there's a music video, and not just some cover art.

Also, be on the lookout for their soon-to-be-released album, Back Through Time, which as the band described, "...an epic adventure through piratical badassery in 11 tracks, with more drunken singalong anthems than you can shake a stick at. There will be songs about midgets. There will be songs about Wisconsin. There will be songs about travelling through time to kill Vikings. And of course, loads of songs about pirates doing what they do best; kicking your ass and stealing your wenches!"

There is one song, Shipwrecked, from the upcoming album that has been released.
